How To Hit A Golf Ball Straight: One Golf Shot After Another

how to hit a golf ball straightThe very best way how to hit a golf ball straight is to lock-in a straight ball flight alignment during your set routine.

Golf instructors have been perplexed for a very long time about the best way how to hit a golf ball straight.

For many years, the notion was that it is impossible to hit perfectly straight golf shots.

As a result, most golf swing instruction is to taught their students some other ball flight, typically a draw or fade.

A fade works well if you are trying to flight your shot to the right of your body and target lines. It doesn’t work very well if you are trying to work the ball to your left.

This is one of the reasons why those whose signature shot is that of a fade play better on courses that demand such shots but who play worse on courses that favor a draw ball flight.

The same proposition applies to those who predominantly draw their shots. They play well on courses that favor a draw ball flight but do not play as well on courses that favor a fade shot.

Although you need to be able to fade or draw your ball in situations that demand them, the preferred shot typically is to hit the golf ball straight

Unfortunately, most instructors do not know how to teach someone how to hit to hit a golf ball straight because they are unfamiliar with the Locked-In Golf™ Method.

You not only can lock-in a straight ball flight alignment during your setup routine using the Locked-In Golf™ Method, you also can use it to lock-in a fade, draw, slice, hook, push or pull ball flight alignment.

However in terms of locking-in a straight ball flight alignment the Jackson Straight Golf Method™ remains a favorite way to do so.

More detailed information to perform this golf method is provided at http://jacksongolfmethod.com, but here are the basics:

First, stand back from your ball by at least two steps and then assume a comfortable posture and stance. Then ground the sole of your clubface in the middle of your stance.

Next, grip your club with either an overlapping, interlocking or baseball (ten fingers) style of grip. Complete your grip by locking (docking) the lifeline of your right hand squarely and securely on your left thumb. Do not unlock the lifeline of your right hand from your left thumb at this point.

While keeping your grip in tact move your feet forward by at least two paces.  how to drive a golf ball straight

Then, unlock the lifeline of your right hand from your left thumb by at least an inch without completely un-gripping your club. Then relock the lifeline of your right hand squarely and securely on your left thumb. (You must not unlock the lifeline of your right hand from your left thumb thereafter.)

At this point you will have a locked-in straight ball flight alignment, assuming you followed the above instructions precisely.

All that remains is to assume a comfortable posture and stance to your ball, center the sweet spot of your clubface as near as possible to the back of your ball (a must) and align your shoulders parallel with your target line.

Then keep a steady head (another must) and execute a simple golf swing without attempting to manipulate your club in any manner.

Discounting wind conditions and elevation differences between your stance and your ball you should observe your ball flying on a path to your target as straight-as-an-arrow.
